Hi everyone,
I am Ella, an independent writer, researcher, publicist and prison abolitionist based in New York City.
After graduating from Cornell University in 2014, I took a researching position with the expert witness and Brown University professor Dr. David Egilman and learned how to ask the ‘right’ questions. We conducted corporate corruption research for toxic tort and product liability lawsuits. After about a year, I started my own independent consulting project where I helped put a 4.69 billion dollar case together against Johnson & Johnson’s asbestos-containing Baby Powder.
In addition to legal consulting work, I write journalistic stories that largely focus on policing, prisons, technology, labor and anarchistic social movements. You can find my work in Teen Vogue, The Nation, The Boston Globe, The Appeal, Slate, OneZero, Mic, In These Times, The Counter, Shadowproof and I am a regular contributor to Truthout and Vice.
