About Ella

Ella is a freelance writer and researcher based in Rhode Island.

After graduating from Cornell University in 2014, they took a researching position with the expert witness and Brown University professor Dr. David Egilman. There, they were taught how to ask the “right” questions while working on toxic tort and product liability lawsuits against large corporations. A couple years later they started an independent research consulting project, where they helped put a 4.69 billion dollar case together against Johnson & Johnson’s asbestos-containing baby powder.

In addition to legal consulting work, they write journalistic stories that largely focus on policing, prisons, technology, labor and anarchistic social movements. You can find their work in Teen Vogue, The Nation, The Boston Globe, The Appeal, Slate, OneZero, Mic, In These Times, The Counter, Shadowproof, Vice and they are a contributor to Truthout.
